Then end of a Journey only means the beginning of a new one!

Hi everyone.

It's been a long time since I last wrote and updated.  When talking with my good friend Sue, she said, "You know, you never gave closure to your weight loss with Belviq blog."  And because I have a new journey I am about to begin, I thought this is the perfect time to give everyone that closure, including myself.

Belviq is an amazing drug.  I will forever be grateful for that medication.  Unfortunately, after I was diagnosed with RSD after my knee replacement, I was no longer allowed to take the medication because of the other medication I need to take for the RSD.

My knee replacement, the diagnosis of RSD, the loss of a job in 2016, and life in general just wasn't working for me.  So, I resorted to my old habits, and I just didn't care!!

And here I sit, about 15 pounds away from my original weight I started before I began Belviq.  I can't blame anyone but myself.  I chose to make these bad choices.  It is my fault I am where I am today.  And now I have so many more health issues as a result.  I am pre-diabetic!

I initially was not going to share this because some people have such strong opinions when it comes to weight loss methods.  After much prayer and research, I have decided that this is my last resort and this is the best option for me going forward is to have weight loss surgery (Specifically, the gastric sleeve).    I know some do not share the same view point as I do on this.  This is MY decision on what is best for me.   Everyone has different needs and opinions.  I respect that, so I ask that you respect me.

For the first time since I have been dealing with my weigh loss journey as a young adult (Remember, I am 50 now!), my insurance COVERS weight  loss surgery.

Today I had a consultation and we begin my new journey.  I will blog about my journey from my initial appointment all the way through my weight loss journey so you all can follow and encourage me.   I have began setting up the appointments required to do the tasks needed.  We are shooting for a December surgery date!

And with that said, The Belviq chapter is officially closed and I have begin my new journey.  Cheers to a happier, healthier me!
